- Retirement Income Planning Advisor Poll 2005
Excerpted from American Banker, 17 August 2005, Vol. 170, No. 158
“Banks and other financial services providers are increasingly viewing financial advisers as an important conduit for selling wealth management products, according to several industry players. A [Richard Day Research] study released last Wednesday by Fidelity Investments said that 94% of advisers believe retirement income planning services will spur growth in their businesses during the next five years.
The adviser channel is becoming a key point of entry to the retirement market as investment offerings become more complex, prompting both institutional and retail investors to seek customized advice, said Joseph Ready, the director of Wachovia Corp.'s retirement services unit in Charlotte. Products such as lifecycle funds and target risk funds have compounded investors' confusion, he said. . . . ”

- Survey gives forest preserve high marks (Oct, 2005)
Excerpted from the Chicago Daily Herald, October, 11 2005
“As the Lake County Forest Preserve District considers how much it will invest in the coming years to buy more land and improve existing facilities, the decision will be based in part on what the public thinks.
Judging from the results of the most recent survey, it's pretty much all good. As in a 2002 survey, nearly three out of four residents surveyed said they or a family member has visited a preserve in the past two years. Hiking (60 percent), bicycling (37 percent) and picnicking (31 percent) were listed as the top activities in the most recent survey by Richard Day Research Inc. of Evanston. . . . ”
